Ask your MP to stand with people affected by leprosy
Friday 30 January is World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day. It’s a day to celebrate how far we’ve come in the fight against these conditions of poverty and injustice. And it’s a day to call for justice for affected communities.
Neglected tropical diseases, including leprosy, impact more than 1.4 billion people across the world. They are preventable and treatable. Yet every year, they devastate lives and shatter futures.
There isn’t enough attention on these conditions. Recent aid cuts have only made it harder to tackle them. Affected communities are in danger of being left behind.
You are making a powerful difference for people affected by leprosy. But we need governments to act too.
To mark World Neglected Tropical Disease Day, we’ll be at an event in Parliament, calling for action on leprosy and neglected tropical diseases. MPs will meet people with lived experience of these conditions, and hear how UK support will change lives.
Will you send an email to your MP asking them to attend the event?
Together, let’s stand with people affected by leprosy and call for justice. Let’s make sure that they are not forgotten.
