Help rebuild lives and renew hope | The Leprosy Mission

In the forgotten state of Bihar in India, people affected by leprosy are the least and the last.

But there is a place where they are put first. Muzaffarpur Hospital. It’s the only place in Bihar where people affected by leprosy can get the care they desperately need.

Every day, 600 people queue to be seen in the Outpatient Department. People like Rajisha. Anxious and alone, she travelled 100km to reach Muzaffarpur.

But the Outpatient Department is crumbling. Patients have to queue outside for hours in searing heat or pouring rain. What’s more, the building regularly floods. It must be rebuilt.

Without Muzaffarpur Hospital, people like Rajisha would be left uncared for and unseen. We cannot let that happen.

Will you help restore this place of healing? Together, we can rebuild lives, and renew hope.

Find Out more about Muzaffarpur Hospital

Muzaffarpur Hospital is the only place people affected by leprosy can get the free care they desperately need. The current OPD cannot cope with the growing number of cases, and is not equipped to provide the best care. It is not fit for purpose and needs to be rebuilt. Fast treatment for all is the only way to stop leprosy spreading in Bihar.
