As a child in Niger, Rabi lived with the effects of extreme poverty. And then, she got leprosy, facing rejection from people in her community. Now, as a mother, she wants a better life for her little girl. Rabi wants her daughter Salama to go to school and have the opportunities she never had. But leprosy and poverty means that they must choose between food and schooling. Can you imagine having to make that choice? For families like Rabi’s, it’s hard to send children in school, especially girls. An education would widen the horizons for Salama, giving her the chance to thrive and build a positive future.

Today, you can make a difference. A gift from you could pay for school fees, books and uniform for Salama and other children like her. Your support could make sure that children affected by leprosy are diagnosed and cured thanks to outreach work in schools. Today, your kindness will mean parents like Rabi never have to choose between going hungry or sending their children to school. Their future starts with you.

A gift of £35 pays for a child to go to school for six months.

£70 will give a child like Salama the gift of education for a whole year.
